Spend the morning joining us for a typically French experience: shopping at a Parisian neighborhood French Market, and collecting your fresh ingredients to create a delicious French meal. Our French Market Tour and Cooking Class in Paris begins  with our chef guiding you around one of the oldest markets in Paris: the Marché Maubert !

A true hands-on culinary experience, discover a traditional French market, learn how to pick the best products and compose your luncheon menu with your chef.

After the Market Tour, via a pleasurable walk through the Île Saint Louis and past Notre Dame, you will return to La Cuisine Paris to begin a hands-on cooking class and work with our chef to create a gourmet lunch using your fresh market products.

 

Unless you see something you really want to buy for yourself, no need to take your wallet out, we will take care of all purchases on the market (the class price is all inclusive of items purchased on the market for the group lunch!).  Please note that this is the one class where we do not have a set menu or set recipes – every class will be different! We leave it to the group and the chef to be creative and choose their menu based on the most beautiful products they find on the market! If you are looking for a baking class in Paris, then do we have something for you! When it comes to dough-making and bread-shaping, the French know best. Join us for a hands-on workshop and learn the secrets to making a French baguette, in your home oven, as close as possible to those bought in wonderful Parisian boulangeries!

During the workshop, you will make from start to finish your own selection of French breads.

Fougasses (artisanal breads filled with a variety of ingredients such as cheeses, spices, dried fruits, and nuts)

From pétrissage à la main (kneading and working your bread by hand) to scarification du pain (scarification of bread), in this workshop, you will learn the terms, techniques and applications to create your very own ‘boulangerie chez vous’.

Beyond just creating your own breads, you'll pick up insider titbits from the world of the baguettes. Is every place you buy a baguette a “boulangerie”? We know the answer, and so will you!

Le croissant - the king of the breakfast table - has certainly earned its place in our hearts. But where to find the best one, you ask? The one you make yourself right here at La Cuisine Paris, of course!

You will learn how to make your own buttery, homemade croissants! Start with flexing those biceps, shaping, making, rolling, and finish with warm flakey croissants to enjoy!

You will learn how to master all of the different techniques of kneading and folding the light, flaky pâte feuilletée levée (a yeast-based puff pastry dough) and you will make the tasty crème pâtissière (pastry cream)You will also learn all about gluten, yeast and the rising time of these goodies.

If you long for a cooking experience that is enjoyable, yet with more of a rigorous element of technical application, then join our three hour Poultry (Volaille) Technical Cooking Class.   While working through three important technical applications in working with Poultry, you will simultaneously be creating a tasty meal to enjoy! 

In this class you will learn and apply the following techniques:

-          How to debone your fowl

-          How to make chicken stock, and its various applications

-          How to make ‘paupiettes’ (stuffed chicken parcels)

Each individual will have their own ‘bird’ to master, and from start to finish will learn and apply the finer techniques to creating a classical French meal.  Using the fruits of the labour, the group will construct and enjoy their menu.

-    Soupe à l’oignon (using the chicken stock)

-    Paupiettes aux herbs et champignons (individual parcels of chicken stuffed with herbs and mushrooms, using the ‘paupiette’ technique)

If you enjoy exploring Paris via your stomach, then join La Cuisine's Food Tours in Paris! Spend three hours filling your belly and feeding your brain on a cultural and culinary food tour of Paris’s historic Les Halles area.  This venerable quarter has been long known as the ‘Belly of Paris’, stemming from the famous 1873 novel ‘Le Ventre de Paris’ by Émile Zola.

Take a tour through time, retracing the mysteries and hidden culinary secrets of the oldest food market in Europe.
During the tour we will explore the foundations of the Frence culinary scene, from the oldest and most characterful cooking equipment store, to some of the oldest French delicacies you can imagine: fromage to foie gras, sweets to meats !
Along the tour we will collect delicacies from each store that we will sample and enjoy with a glass of wine back at the school!

First you will learn all the technical aspects of making the perfect Pâte feuilleté (puff pastry), the flakiest pastry dough.

We’ll whip up Crème Mousseline, no ordinary cream filling, but a Crème Pâtissière made even tastier from the addition of beaten butter.

After you make your own Pâte Feuilleté, you will create not one but two Mille Feuille from your varied crème mousseline.

Millions of people visit the Palace of Versailles, but not many realize that tucked away just off of the grounds of the Château is Le Potager du Roi – the 17th century Garden created for King Louis XIV – and it truly is a garden fit for a king!

 

Changing ‘la cuisine Française’ and the dining table forever, this magnificent garden is credited not only for advanced techniques such as creating a microclimate for the production of over 300 varieties of fruits and vegetables that grew despite the season, but also for dramatically changing what was served at the king's table.

 

We start our gastronomic Versailles adventure with a journey through the spectacular ‘Potager’ and its importance to Versailles and the history of la cuisine Française. 

 

Leaving the ‘Potager’, we will continue our journey onwards through the city of Versailles tovisit and taste our way around the local Market de Versailles.  We will tour the four market pavilions, discuss current cuisine trends and topics, and collect items for our French ‘apero’ (the ‘apero’ in France is a term used for pre-dinner nibbles), as well as cheeses to create our own fromage plate.  

 

Following the market we will head to our favorite local restaurant where we will enjoy the ‘apero’ items we have collected, followed by a four-course set menu, including our fromage plate from the market, served with wine.

 

The experience will end at around 2pm, when you will be provided with a ticket to enjoy a visit to the Château of Versailles during the rest of your afternoon, and a return ticket for your train journey back to Paris.

 

‘A savoir’ for this experience:

We meet promptly at 9:00am to take the RER together to the city of Versailles - please note that a lateness will mean us having to take a later train.

 

The cost of this tour is inclusive of:

·         transport to and from the city of Versailles via the RER

·         a private guided tour of the Le Potager du Roi

·         all purchases made for the group at the market

·         the four course set meal at the restaurant

·         a one day admission ticket for the Château of Versailles (for you to use after the tour)

We start our workshop with a visit to our favorite local ‘fromager affineur to learn about what to look for when selecting fromage, and pick up our selection to enjoy over wine back at the school. 

During our time, you will discover more on:

·         the importance of French food labels and how to understand what they mean;

·         tasting and serving tips for a variety of wines and cheeses;

·         how to pair fromage and wine together and what to look out for when pairing them with other foods and beverages.

Millions of people visit the Palace of Versailles, but not many realize that tucked away just off of the grounds of the Château is Le Potager du Roi – the 17th century Garden created for King Louis XIV – and it truly is a garden fit for a king!

 

Changing ‘la cuisine Française’ and the dining table forever, this magnificent garden is credited not only for advanced techniques such as creating a microclimate for the production of over 300 varieties of fruits and vegetables that grew despite the season, but also for dramatically changing what was served at the king's table.

 

We start our gastronomic Versailles adventure with a journey through the spectacular ‘Potager’ and its importance to Versailles and the history of la cuisine Française. 

 

Leaving the ‘Potager’, we will continue our journey onwards through the city of Versailles tovisit and taste our way around the local Market de Versailles.  We will tour the four market pavilions, discuss current cuisine trends and topics, and collect items for our French ‘apero’ (the ‘apero’ in France is a term used for pre-dinner nibbles), as well as cheeses to create our own fromage plate.  

 

Following the market we will head to our favorite local restaurant where we will enjoy the ‘apero’ items we have collected, followed by a four-course set menu, including our fromage plate from the market, served with wine.

 

The experience will end at around 2pm, when you will be provided with a ticket to enjoy a visit to the Château of Versailles during the rest of your afternoon, and a return ticket for your train journey back to Paris.

 

‘A savoir’ for this experience:

We meet promptly at 9:00am to take the RER together to the city of Versailles - please note that a lateness will mean us having to take a later train.

 

The cost of this tour is inclusive of:

·         transport to and from the city of Versailles via the RER

·         a private guided tour of the Le Potager du Roi

·         all purchases made for the group at the market

·         the four course set meal at the restaurant

Millions of people visit the Palace of Versailles, but not many realize that tucked away just off of the grounds of the Château is Le Potager du Roi – the 17th century Garden created for King Louis XIV – and it truly is a garden fit for a king!

 

Changing ‘la cuisine Française’ and the dining table forever, this magnificent garden is credited not only for advanced techniques such as creating a microclimate for the production of over 300 varieties of fruits and vegetables that grew despite the season, but also for dramatically changing what was served at the king's table.

 

We start our gastronomic Versailles adventure with a journey through the spectacular ‘Potager’ and its importance to Versailles and the history of la cuisine Française. 

 

Leaving the ‘Potager’, we will continue our journey onwards through the city of Versailles tovisit and taste our way around the local Market de Versailles.  We will tour the four market pavilions, discuss current cuisine trends and topics, and collect items for our French ‘apero’ (the ‘apero’ in France is a term used for pre-dinner nibbles), as well as cheeses to create our own fromage plate.  

 

Following the market we will head to our favorite local restaurant where we will enjoy the ‘apero’ items we have collected, followed by a four-course set menu, including our fromage plate from the market, served with wine.

Think of France, and if you’re anything like us, two things spring to mind – fromage and wine, wine and fromage

So if you’re also a lover of French wine and fromage, then this is the experience for you. In our Fromage and Wine discovery, you will enjoy a visit to our local fromager, learn the basics of French fromage and wine, and of course taste your way through various fromage and wine from around France!  

We start our workshop with a visit to our favorite local ‘fromager affineur to learn about what to look for when selecting fromage, and pick up our selection to enjoy over wine back at the school. 

During our time, you will discover more on:

·         the history and theory on the making of fromage and wine in various regions throughout France;

·         the importance of French food labels and how to understand what they mean;

·         tasting and serving tips for a variety of wines and cheeses;

·         how to pair fromage and wine together and what to look out for when pairing them with other foods and beverages.

 

During the workshop you will taste a selection of five fromage with accompanying wines from various regions around France.  Naturally, we will have accompaniments from our favorite boulangerie in the neighborhood.

You will learn how to make your own buttery, homemade croissants! Start with flexing those biceps, shaping, making, rolling, and finish with warm flakey croissants to enjoy!

You will learn how to master all of the different techniques of kneading and folding the light, flaky pâte feuilletée levée (a yeast-based puff pastry dough) and you will make the tasty crème pâtissière (pastry cream)You will also learn all about gluten, yeast and the rising time of these goodies.

Think of France, and if you’re anything like us, two things spring to mind – fromage and wine, wine and fromage

So if you’re also a lover of French wine and fromage, then this is the experience for you. In our Fromage and Wine discovery, you will enjoy a visit to our local fromager, learn the basics of French fromage and wine, and of course taste your way through various fromage and wine from around France!  

We start our workshop with a visit to our favorite local ‘fromager affineur to learn about what to look for when selecting fromage, and pick up our selection to enjoy over wine back at the school. 

During our time, you will discover more on:

·         the history and theory on the making of fromage and wine in various regions throughout France;

·         the importance of French food labels and how to understand what they mean;

·         tasting and serving tips for a variety of wines and cheeses;

·         how to pair fromage and wine together and what to look out for when pairing them with other foods and beverages.

 

During the workshop you will taste a selection of five fromage with accompanying wines from various regions around France.  Naturally, we will have accompaniments from our favorite boulangerie in the neighborhood.

So if you’re also a lover of French wine and fromage, then this is the experience for you. In our Fromage and Wine discovery, you will enjoy a visit to our local fromager, learn the basics of French fromage and wine, and of course taste your way through various fromage and wine from around France!  

We start our workshop with a visit to our favorite local ‘fromager affineur to learn about what to look for when selecting fromage, and pick up our selection to enjoy over wine back at the school. 

During our time, you will discover more on:

·         the importance of French food labels and how to understand what they mean;

·         tasting and serving tips for a variety of wines and cheeses;

·         how to pair fromage and wine together and what to look out for when pairing them with other foods and beverages.

 

During the workshop you will taste a selection of five fromage with accompanying wines from various regions around France.  Naturally, we will have accompaniments from our favorite boulangerie in the neighborhood.

Millions of people visit the Palace of Versailles, but not many realize that tucked away just off of the grounds of the Château is Le Potager du Roi – the 17th century Garden created for King Louis XIV – and it truly is a garden fit for a king!

 

Changing ‘la cuisine Française’ and the dining table forever, this magnificent garden is credited not only for advanced techniques such as creating a microclimate for the production of over 300 varieties of fruits and vegetables that grew despite the season, but also for dramatically changing what was served at the king's table.

 

We start our gastronomic Versailles adventure with a journey through the spectacular ‘Potager’ and its importance to Versailles and the history of la cuisine Française. 

 

Leaving the ‘Potager’, we will continue our journey onwards through the city of Versailles tovisit and taste our way around the local Market de Versailles.  We will tour the four market pavilions, discuss current cuisine trends and topics, and collect items for our French ‘apero’ (the ‘apero’ in France is a term used for pre-dinner nibbles), as well as cheeses to create our own fromage plate.  

 

Following the market we will head to our favorite local restaurant where we will enjoy the ‘apero’ items we have collected, followed by a four-course set menu, including our fromage plate from the market, served with wine.

 

The experience will end at around 2pm, when you will be provided with a ticket to enjoy a visit to the Château of Versailles during the rest of your afternoon, and a return ticket for your train journey back to Paris.

 

‘A savoir’ for this experience:

We meet promptly at 9:00am to take the RER together to the city of Versailles - please note that a lateness will mean us having to take a later train.

 

The cost of this tour is inclusive of:

·         transport to and from the city of Versailles via the RER

·         a private guided tour of the Le Potager du Roi

·         all purchases made for the group at the market

·         the four course set meal at the restaurant

·         a one day admission ticket for the Château of Versailles (for you to use after the tour)

The Path to Paris Pastries is a cultural and culinary tour of the Paris's finest Pastry institutions!  We will melt away the hours away us touring and tasting our favourite pastry and chocolate spots in Paris !  It's certainly the sweetest food tour in paris you will find!

We will introduce you to our favourite boutiques, from traditional and regional, to trend setting and topical.

Millions of people visit the Palace of Versailles, but not many realize that tucked away just off of the grounds of the Château is Le Potager du Roi – the 17th century Garden created for King Louis XIV – and it truly is a garden fit for a king!

 

Changing ‘la cuisine Française’ and the dining table forever, this magnificent garden is credited not only for advanced techniques such as creating a microclimate for the production of over 300 varieties of fruits and vegetables that grew despite the season, but also for dramatically changing what was served at the king's table.

 

We start our gastronomic Versailles adventure with a journey through the spectacular ‘Potager’ and its importance to Versailles and the history of la cuisine Française. 

 

Leaving the ‘Potager’, we will continue our journey onwards through the city of Versailles tovisit and taste our way around the local Market de Versailles.  We will tour the four market pavilions, discuss current cuisine trends and topics, and collect items for our French ‘apero’ (the ‘apero’ in France is a term used for pre-dinner nibbles), as well as cheeses to create our own fromage plate.  

 

Following the market we will head to our favorite local restaurant where we will enjoy the ‘apero’ items we have collected, followed by a four-course set menu, including our fromage plate from the market, served with wine.

 

The experience will end at around 2pm, when you will be provided with a ticket to enjoy a visit to the Château of Versailles during the rest of your afternoon, and a return ticket for your train journey back to Paris.

 

‘A savoir’ for this experience:

We meet promptly at 9:00am to take the RER together to the city of Versailles - please note that a lateness will mean us having to take a later train.

 

The cost of this tour is inclusive of:

·         transport to and from the city of Versailles via the RER

·         a private guided tour of the Le Potager du Roi

·         all purchases made for the group at the market

Think of France, and if you’re anything like us, two things spring to mind – fromage and wine, wine and fromage
