Nowadays throughout the Marais you will find a mix of boutiques, art galleries, and museums, but best of all, the Marais is a food lovers paradise and you'll want to take time to explore.
Here are a few our favorite places to put on your food list:
Laurent Dubois is a sure choice for anyone looking for extraordinary cheese. Laurent Dubois was the first cheese maker to be awarded the famed Meilleur Ouvrier de France title, this title, is reserved for France’s most notable craftsman and is the highest award one can receive. His store located at 97-99 Rue Saint Antoine is sure to delight even the most esteemed cheese critic, be on the look out for some of his more experimental cheeses…
If you are looking for an exquisite selection of ice creams, Une Glace a Paris (another MOF first) always has us enchanted with their innovative concoctions that are constantly changing, which means there is always a reason to drop by! With flavors like butternut squash, Colombian pollen, and smoked vanilla…this ice cream shop at 15 Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie is a must visit!
One of the things that makes the Marais so beautiful is the diverse and eceltic range of pastry boutiques. A favorite of ours is Maison Aleph. Created by Myriam Sabet. We'll let you discover their most delicate and extraordinary little 'nids'. Don't let their size fool you, they are packed with deliciousness. You'll want to visit them at 20 rue de la Verrerie.
A Marais institution, Izraël's spice emporium is just behind us. This is the one stop shop for anyone in the culinary world looking for specialty spices and ingredients. If there was an equivalent to Aladdin’s Cave in the spice world, this is it. Visit them at 30 François Miron. A stone’s throw from us, sits our favorite bakery, Au Petit Versailles du Marais. Which translates to the little Versailles of the Marais, and if you step inside you will be sure to understand why! Their ceilings are adorned with glass paintings and gold chandeliers light up the interior! Their baguettes are award winning, so be sure to grab one on your next visit. Located at 1 Rue Tiron.
