Introducing : Eataly Paris Marais

As of April 2019, Paris has its own temple to Italian gastronomy - Eataly has arrived in the Marais!

On the 12th April at precisely 12.12pm, the doors of Paris' newest food finally opened after months of anticipation. And what beautiful doors they are! Right in the midst of the Marais, our lovely history-packed neighbourhood, this temple to Italian cuisine is a welcome addition to the city's food scene, bringing specialty items we all know and love - and some we're keen to discover!

This is France's first Eataly, so needless to say some serious hype has been happening! That means the occasional queue to gain access to Eataly's chic interiors, where 4000 square metres of space are home to a cellar of 1200 Italian wines, amazing balsamic vinegars (read: an entire aisle of balsamic vinegars), fresh fruit and vegetables in an open-air courtyard, the best cheeses - including truffled burrata, hello! - coffees, freshly baked breads made with organic flours, a butcher, fresh pasta... need we go on? Ok, we'll go on.

Open seven days a week from 8am until midnight, you've got plenty of time to pop in and discover one of the various attractions at this fun-filled fairground of Italian gastronomy. That might mean a perfect Lavazza coffee at Caffé & Gelato enjoyed in the luminous open spaces. Perhaps you'll find yourself caught between the classics at La Pasta e La Pizza, sipping a bubbly aperitivo at Bar Torino, savouring the best Italian wines at Osteria del Vino, or ordering pasta freshly made before your eyes at the Pasta Fresca Bar. And all under one roof? Si!

A word about that particular roof! It was designed by Scottish artist Martin Boyce, flooding the bustling atrium below with daylight. In the lovely central space, high shared tables in white marble and wood surround a beautiful lemon tree, creating the atmosphere of a sunlit piazza. While sipping your morning coffee you can watch the Eataly team preparing the day's prosciutto, parmigiana, charcuterie and fromage for the day at the Salumeria.
