Foodie Fun

David Lebovitz' new book Drinking French is out March 3rd!

The sweetest man we know is adding another feather to his cap...get your hands on Drinking French : The Iconic Cocktails, Apéritifs, and Café Traditions of France, with 160 Recipes! What's more, you can meet the man himself at his book launch at WHSmith on rue de Rivoli on 27 February starting at 6pm. As Willy Wonka says - Candy is dandy, but liqour is quicker! Find out more here. And incidentally if you're looking for English-speaking bookstores in Paris check out our Handy Map on the subject here.

Salon Gastronomique Mer et Vignes 31 January - 3 February, Parc Floral de Paris

If you're a big fan of seafood and wine, this recent addition to the gastronomy salon scene will be hitting Paris' beautiful Parc Floral - the Salon Gastronomique Mer et Vignes! Enjoy the freshest oysters and a glass of white wine, the best produce from across France, and a tempting range of wines to add to your collection! A free shuttle will be running from the Metro station Château de Vincennes to keep things nice and simple.

Chandeleur, 2nd February

We don't really need an excuse to eat crêpes, but if we did need one this would be it! Every year, France goes crêpe crazy (or at least, crazier than usual) 40 days after Christmas Day - known elsewhere in the world as Candlemas. Of course, we'll be flipping a few crêpes here at La Cuisine Paris on Friday 7th February - why not join us? You can read more about it and sign up just here.

Salon d'Agriculture, 22 February - 1 March

One of the most anticipated gastronomic events of the year, the Salon d'Agriculture returns in 2020 for another extravaganza! Where else will you find over 300 breeds of animals, 700,000+ visitors, wine, cheese, charcuterie, oysters, Champagne, fondue, and generally more fun and French fare than you can handle. Read all about it and get your tickets here.

Louboutin The Exhibition[nist] at Palais de la Porte Dorée, 25th February

Fashionistas and footwear connoisseurs can dive into the world of iconic shoe visionary Christian Louboutin at this major exhibition beginning in late February. There'll be new collaborations that are being revealed for the first time - including those with David Lynch amongst others! Find out all about it here.

Monet, Renoir... Chagall at the Atelier des Lumieres, 28 February

After the runaway success of the Atelier des Lumieres' Van Gogh exhibition - which saw the works projected 360° into the vast warehouse-like space - this new exhibition will open on 28th February. Covering the time between Impressionism and Moderism, the projections will immerse you in the works of more than twenty artists from Renoir, Monet and Pissarro to Matisse and Chagall. Find out more and book tickets right here.

Paris Face Cachée, 31 January - 2 February

Paris Face Cachée Roughly translating to "the hidden side of Paris", is a three-day event designed to reveal a new and unusual side of the city. There are three key categories - private properties that are usually closed to the public, custom experiences in public places across the city, and performances and shows in unexpected places. This is a very secret experience that is kept deliberately enigmatic - you choose your experience from a list of mysterious titles - over 120 in 2019 - and the exact location is only revealed on your ticket. You have to move fast to book one of these experiences as they sell out in a flash! Some are free however, so it's well worth the effort. The full programme will be live on January 17th and tickets will be available to book on 21st January, so keep an eye out and be on your toes to book! Click here.

Showtime in Paris, 25 February - 10 March

Now in its second outing, Showtime in Paris offers the chance to see some fantastic shows in some of the city's most iconic venues - including the Moulin Rouge, Caveau de la Huchette, the Philharmonie de Paris and more. The perk? You get one ticket free for every ticket you buy! All shows are accessible to English speakers, and there's everything from live jazz and Broadway musicals to classical concerts and cabarets. Find the full schedule here, and sign up to receive an alert when booking opens!
